Singapore Airshow 2018 – RSAF Aerial Display

As with previous years, the Republic of Singapore Airforce (RSAF) will be participating in the Singapore Airshow 2018 from 6 to 11 February 2018 held at the Changi Exhibition Centre. Visitors will be able to learn more about the airmen and women of the RSAF at the RSAF50 Pavilion, view the RSAF assets on static display and enjoy a special aerial display performance. The aerial display has always been the crowd favourite and they will see the first time an F-15SG and two F-16Cs performing together in the integrated aerial display.

The 15 minute aerial display performance by the RSAF team will feature a total of 15 manoeuvres in a showcase of precision and co-ordination between three fighter aircraft.Of which six are new integrated manoeuvres, seen by public for the first time. The six new manoeuvres are the Arrowhead Flypast, 3-Ship Dedication Pasthe s, 3-Ship Barrel Roll, 3-Ship Low and Slow & High Speed Pass, Victory Flypast and Golden Salute. On the public days of the airshow, 10 and 11 Feb 2018, the jets will perform two displays – one at 11.30am and another at 2.30pm.

Following are images from last two day’s rehearsals. Enjoy and hope you enjoy their amazing performances when you visit the Singapore Airshow 2018

  1. Hi David,

What would be the recommended shutter speed and lens focal length to be used for upcoming Singapore Airshow?

    1. Hi Desmond, recommended focal length for single aircraft should be 500mm or more and for the teams, 70-200 should be sufficient. Shutter speed try to keep it at least 1/1000 for the jets.

  2. Hi David,

Just to sidetrack a bit, to photograph aircrafts taking off (in particular capturing the afterburners), would there be a suggested accessible location where i can try? Other than Ubi where the planes usu land, would the stretch along Tampines Rd where the planes take off be a viable point of view?

However, if these locations are meant to be classified i can understand.
