RSAF50@Heartlands – Jurong East

Jurong East was the final location for the RSAF50@Heartlands exhibition, held at the open field next to the Jurong East MRT station on 26-27 May. With ample space for a large demonstration area, the V-200 RBS-70 GBAD, Hermes 450 UAV and I-HAWK GBAD M-192 Launcher were the final static displays shown. As the crowd descended on this final weekend, the RSAF team closed out the successful five-location run with an impressive total of 224,000 visitors.

With the surge in droning activities in Singapore in recent years, the RSAF publicly demonstrated its C-UAS (Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems) capabilities for the first time at the exhibition. A realistic airbase perimeter, complete with fences and signages, was erected, and the Jammer Gun and Drone Catcher systems were showcased. The Force Protection Troopers from 605 Squadron, Tengah Air Base, conducted the twice daily demonstrations, and young members of the public also had a chance to test fly a recreational drone. Due to the strong interference capability, the Jammer Gun had a simulated demonstration instead of being fully activated to avoid disrupting the surrounding signals.
