Singapore Airshow 2024 – Cleared for Takeoff

Singapore Airshow is back in full force, and you will not want to miss it.

The biennial show, in its ninth edition, will be held from 20 February 2024 to 25 February 2024 at Changi Exhibition Centre. The highly-popular Weekend@Airshow (previously known as public days) will return over the weekend, after the pandemic forced a scale down and then subsequent removal. During the press conference held on 18 February 2024, Mr Leck Chet Lam, Managing Director of Experia, organiser of the Singapore Airshow 2024, highlighted the significantly larger scale of the show amidst the strong growth trajectory of the aviation sector. Over 1,000 participating companies from more than 50 countries will be in attendance; this is expected to bring in more than 50,000 trade visitors. There will be 16 country pavilions, of which China, Czech Republic and Korea having country pavilions for the first time.

At the show’s core will be sustainability. The industry net zero goal by 2050 requires catalysts such the Singapore Airshow to set the message and facilitate collaboration on a global scale.

Every effort has been made to commit to a sustainable airshow. 15,000 solar panels on the roof of Changi Exhibition Centre produces renewable energy for the event, IONIQ 5 electric vehicles will be used for delegate transportation, and attendees who wish to purchase carbon offsets can do so through the partnership with CarbonClick.

To facilitate strategic thought-leadership discussions, the AeroForum has been curated with the Sustainable Aviation Forum, Aviation CEO Forum, Advanced Air Mobility Forum, and China-Singapore Bilateral Aviation Forum. Together, these four sessions will tackle the most pressing issues as the aviation industry moves forward.

The value of innovation cannot be understated; What’s Next@Singapore Airshow, a partnership with Starburst, provides a global stage for promising start-ups to pitch their ideas to investors, accelerators, and corporate partners. On Wednesday, 41 start-ups from more than 15 countries are expected to share their best ideas on four main areas of interests: Digital, Air Traffic Managemnet, Sustainability and Dual Use Technologies. To cultivate the future generation of innovators and talents, Singapore Airshow will engage over 3,000 students for AeroCampus on Thursday, with acitvities that span from STEM workshops to career talks.

This year, the flying display features 5 aerobatic teams, 3 commercial aircraft demonstrations, and 1 special flypast. Notable particpants are COMAC’s (Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China) C919 and ARJ21, making their international airshow debut. The United States Air Force’s (USAF) B-52H Stratofortress will make a flypast on Thursday’s show. The static display will feature 41 different aircraft types, with substaintial representation from all sectors. Notable aircraft gracing Singapore Airshow for the first time include: Embraer C390 Millennium, Boeing AH-64E, CATIC (China National Aero-Technology Import & Export Corporation) Z10ME, COMAC C919, COMAC ARJ21, Dassault Falcon 6X and Gulfstream G700.

Singapore Airshow 2024 is open 9.30am to 5.00pm for both Trade Days (20-23 February) and Weekend@Airshow (24-25 February). Weekend@Airshow tickets can still be purchased via SISTIC.
