Nine years ago, a couple of strangers who shared a common interest in photography and aviation got together by chance and started a social group to enjoy their interests and experiences together. Fast forward 3000+ days later, and while the group may be smaller, its core motivation is still present, although its scope of focus has broaden significantly since.

2024 has been exciting for the group as we covered new grounds such as Airshow China 2024 in Zhuhai and the Republic of Korea Air Force’s Phantom Retirement Ceremony at Suwon Air Base. We also returned to our regular events such as the Royal Thai Air Force Children’s Day Open House, Singapore Airshow and the 59th National Day Parade. We were fortunate to welcome back the Mexican Navy’s ARM Cuauhtémoc after seven years, and cover the historic first visit of the Italian Navy’s training tall ship, Amerigo Vespucci. Friendships remain as strong as ever. We joined up in the skies over RIAT and were delighted to welcome PÉGASE on home soil for the third consecutive year.

2025 will be a significant year and milestone for the MAphotoSG team as we start the anniversary of the group’s first decade. It is hard to believe that the time has passed us by so fast, but we still have the same passion burning in us, albeit much older and slower. We invite you the readers and audience to join us as we begin the path to 10 years in a few hours as we welcome in the new year.
