For the first time, this year’s National Day Parade (NDP) celebrations were extended to 10 August, to allow more Singaporeans to have a memorable experience celebrating National Day. A series of celebratory activities were organised by the People’s Association (PA) and the grassroots organisations, one at each district, where fun-filled activities such as laser tag, traditional games, hands on art experiences, cultural performances, and firework displays. In addition, about 60 Mobile Column vehicles also fanned out on four different routes to each of thes five sites, and turning into a static display to allow the residents to experience the SAF and Home Team assets up close. A live-stream of each Mobile Column travelling to the various sites was also broadcasted online, allowing viewers to live track each column as they made their journey from the F1 Pit. The NDP Mobile Column last went through the heartlands in 2010 immediately after the Parade, but there were no designated stops then.
We present this small photo feature as the MAphotoSG team visited the various sites to soak in the celebrations and enjoy the long weekend.
