In the second half of 2015, a group of social photographers with almost similar interests in aviation and photography formed a group to explore capturing these themes, and as a bonding activity to share skills, knowledge and experiences.

Fast forward to Dec 2025, and it has been a fruitful and fulfilling trip as the MAphotoSG Team completes and celebrates ten years of this journey. Along the way, the team has become smaller but leaner and more focused in its endeavours on writing objective and informative articles, accompanied by photos seen through the lenses by our eyes.

2025 has been a year of firsts for our team as we covered the inaugural edition of the Business Aviation Asia Forum & Expo, the new Singapore Army SAFTI City training facility, visits to both the FS Charles de Gaulle and HMS Prince of Wales aircraft carriers, and the Paya Lebar Air Base Heritage Walk that encompassed the iconic Hangar 5 to the historic Paya Lebar Airport passenger terminal building.

Internationally, the team covered the Royal Thai Air Force Children’s Day Open House at Don Meaung and Udo Thani airbases, South Korea’s Osan Air Power Days and Seoul ADEX 2025, Greece’s Athens Flying Week at Tanagra Air Base, and the AMNEX 2025 ASEAN Fleet Review Open Ship Visit in Penang.

We have been privileged to have these opportunities to cover the events, and access to capture significant shots. These couldn’t have been done without the support of the various organisations and parties that have facilitated and assisted us with these endeavours, and we owe a deep appreciation and gratitude to them.

But we reserve our biggest thanks to you, our readers, who have read our words and seen our photos on our website and Facebook platforms over the last decade. Without you, we will have no audience to write to and no motivation to do what we have done.

Before we end the year, there are two new pieces of updates regarding our Team that we have been working on this last year. Firstly, as we have broadened and encompassed beyond our initial focus on military aviation, we have decided to now be known as MAphotoSG moving forward. This is not a name change, but rather one that acknowledges our starting heritage but also enables us to explore future activities.

Secondly, we have finally decided to enter the Instagram platform with an official MAphotoSG account, and this may encompass a different form of media content, although with the same subjects as our website. As this is a new direction for the Team, there will be experimentation and finetuning so please bear with us as we take on this challenge.

The Team is raring to go as we begin our journey into, hopefully, our second decade. We invite you to come along for the ride, and we will try to make it even more exciting than before.
